Madakaripura Waterfall is a waterfall located in Lumbang District, Probolinggo Regency, East Java Province. With a height of about 200 meters, Madakaripura is the second highest waterfall in Indonesia after the Sigura-gura waterfall on the island of Sumatra.
The name Madakaripura it self is take
n from the name of the Mahapatih of the Majapahit kingdom who had meditated around this waterfall area, namely Mahapatih Gajahmada. Its beauty is not in doubt, the access to the main waterfall is approximately 1 km from the motorbike parking lot and we will pass several small waterfalls before
heading to the main waterfall.
It is about 3 hours by car from Juanda Airport in Surabaya, and the location of the waterfall, which is only about 1 hour drive to the international tourist destination of Mount Bromo, is not wrong if it is a favorite reference for local and international tourists.
Some of the recommended tips when visiting here are:
1. Use rubber sandals or water shoes and a raincoat, because along the way we will cross the river and walk under a small waterfall.
2. We recommend that you use the services of a local guide, for safety and to help the economy of the surrounding community.
